What should every developer have?

I mainly mean for the hours spent sitting.. but anyway you want to answer that is fine.. I'm 31, not that old but after so long my shoulder burns my back gets tense and my wrists even get a little sore.. I've worked in the oil fields, power plants, excavation, construction and I never would have guessed that sitting down all day would be harder on my body than anything else I've ever done.

hmm .. with the jobs that you have done I think your body doesn't like to sit n a one place so .. you better get short breaks while programming ..like take a small walk and stuff .. and I think your sitting posture is not good.. and use a chair that supports your back nicely .. 😃

Keyboard and mouse wrist rests are a must for me. Carpal tunnel syndrome isn't fun.

I heard about chair for sitting on... knees. I never tried it, but it is recommended for back issues.
