What are your experiences learning scala and/or kotlin? What are pros and cons of each?

Currently I've been doing java for years. Mostly java 8 recently. I've done a little groovy and scala. I would like to start learning a new language; scala and kotlin both seem interesting...

kotlin looks like super java on crack, pretty cool features but been sticking with java as I recently just started making android apps and think learning with the original would be beneficial atleast for first time around. still haven't finished wrapping my head around spring but I'm def gunna look into scala and I'll get back to yah with a better answer. Found this link about kotlin in the mean time: https://medium.com/@octskyward/why-kotlin-is-my-next-programming-language-c25c001e26e3 Still would really like some input if you have experience with one or both!

@Codex thanks! I'm also sticking with java for the moment and Spring is also high on my list to learn as we use it at work. Scala is also used but not in my team. saw a Kotlin demo at goto amsterdam and it looked super fun!
