CSS means cascading style sheets. It is used for applying different styles to your web page. All the styles that you see in a page is done through CSS styling e. g. colours, effects, backgrounds, text formats and alignments, image formats etc.
Usually there is a file associated with the website named 'style.css' which contains all the styles of all the web pages.
