Ah I missunderstood your question :).
Unity pro has good a feature called profiling. It trackes your code and shows cpu and gpu workload. When you can renounce this feature feel free to use unity free

Personally I think c#. Also Unity is developping a technology which is called IL2CPP. It translates C# code to C++ code, so that your game can use the native performance of his host computer and not run the code through a virtual mashine. The technology is currently available for iOS 64bit and WebGL
