What language to choose and why as your first (for total beginners)?

There are a lot of programming languages. Based on your experiences, what language would you guys recommend to learn as first language and why? Learning first language is time consuming and one must put a lot of effort in it, so it is important to know for first timers. #thanksForSharing

Go for HTML..It is also come first..After then you can learn JavaScript..I also suggest you to learn java or python..

It should be HTML/Ruby In my opinion... But a lot of people recommend Python for 1st time learners... ^_^ It's upon you, what you want to choose !
