Help needed

Question

Hello guys. I am working on a PHP based mlm web application. I have created my genealogy tree page. Now I need to list members downlines (on the right and left leg in separate tables). I know I need a kind of recursive function but I don't know how to go about it. Please, your great ideas are highly welcome.

Im not sure if this will work but maybe create them insite their own list elements (HTML) and then just make the whole element a block (CSS) but the list's content into inline?
