Does git/github look complicated to you?

It took me while to grasp the Git environment. I wonder if I'm alone.

git init
git add .
git commit -m "comments here"

SourceTree is a pretty good tool (UI) to work with git projects. You can try it to get familiar with functionality you can use in git.
