You may get more takers if you give details as to exactly what you're looking to do. Also, I'm not entirely sure writing just HTML will be compelling enough to a lot of people. I'd consider say working on a website that uses HTML, CSS and Javascript. Then at the end you can use it to showcase your skills. That would be pure front-end development which is always in demand by employers/hobbyists etc.

You could even use software like photoshop to do your own geaphics etc. that you could use on your website if you're feeling brave.
