Subscripted text is low profile, a good example of it's use is with elements, e.g.
Oxygen -> O2 -> O<sub>2</sub>
Superscripted text is high profile, a good example of it's use is with dates, e.g.
4th October -> 4<sup>th</sup> October

when u write subscript tag between the specific word the word move little down and in other case superscript its vice versa.
