[SOLVED] unable to change colors using Javascript help debug the code please 😄

was playing with the following code.
for some reason the Color is not changing with this one. even after multiple tries unable to pinpoint the exact issue help me debug this please 😃

thanks for your help @Tony. I know about that method of changing colors. but I don't want to pollute my Html with JavaScript if it can be helped.
