Why some peoples says "WordPress is better than learn and code in html"??? Why??

it just a hypno-suggestion especially from advertising , wordpress themselves avoid saying "to code" so people won't afraid to jump in..

making people to think that wordpress is like a blog , an online notepad that can be seen worldwide , meanwhile if user want to decorate and else... voila....

besides , wordpress may / may not prepare their own library or template that free to use (in code means open source license) that can be used by anyone..

*edit : in some cases , if you're owner of a company , you might think it's better to ask programmer to code than build from wordpress templates , because either of licensing or ownership-ing or security.

pro :
wp : have template & build in security.
self-code : invent unique design as we please that not in wp , customize everything as we please without term & cond or any agreement restriction.

con :
wp : if (just in case) wp site / domain down / broken , your site will also damaged.
self-code : it on your own server (at least different server than wp) , so security might differ , when got hit , it on your own risk to handle.
