PyData conferences

Guys, has any of you, Python-oriented folks, heard about PyData events? Originated in the USA, they made quite a buzz in Europe recently. This year one of the events is taking place in Poland and I consider attending. Can anyone recommend it? www.pydata.org EDIT: Take a look at their other events calendar, in Europe and beyond: https://pydata.org/events.html

It is kind of a big deal and the entrance fee is quite high, but the agenda is really interesting and data science-focused, so I am really keen on getting into it. I just would like to know if someone would share their xp :)

I live in the USA, code primarily in C++/Python2-3, and still have never heard of it. I'll have a look at it though.

You can get into some of these conferences for free / discount by working for a startup (then apply for vouchers for everyone; usually you have to prove your project is relevant/interesting) or searching for a public application area. Once you get into one, plan to rub shoulders with people and you may find yourself automatically invited (possibly with cost changes) to more.

Well, I got used to free or symbollical entrance fees of some $10-20 for quite good summits on data science or coding. Here it's some ~$80, so I would want to confirm it's worth it.

Very nice mix, indeed. The conference is split into tracks and I have a hard time attending one talks while sacrificing others. I guess I need a good focus :)

Just got back from the PyData Warsaw meetup. Well, if the two-day conference is anything like this -- money well spent on that entrance fee. Can't wait! 😎

Yeah, that looks awesome. At first I was like "ooo, anomaly detection" then there was so much more. Siamese RNN's? Huh. +++ I laughed at the lower left-hand corner. While it means learning bias, it reminds me of watching for adversarial AI sign. I like the mix... a lot of use cases slipped in there. What a smorgasbord :) I hope the presenters / venue publishes ~ didn't notice that detail yet.
