Learn SQL and a server-side language like PHP or NodeJS. Then you'll be able to store the information to a database and when the user logs in, they'll see what they need to see, as well as perform whatever other functions you want for this to-do system.

If this is just practice, and you're not trying to do anything serious, you can store the data onto their computer via cookies. However, that's not secure, and you're only one "Clear Browser History" away from losing your list. You could also have it store to a text file on the computer, and not be included in a "cookie wipe." Again, not secure and you're one corrupted file away from losing your data.

Web dev isn't my specialty, but that should do the trick for ya.
