Does it come as a surprise when you say you're interested in programming to anyone ?

there's just that "ohh well that's um...unexpected" that I've seen with some people, not with me, nobody really knows, but I've seen that reaction before. do you get that too some times?

I have tattoos and gauges, so people seem to expect for me to be uneducated. I get that reaction often, but I think it's just because I don't look like I "should." I guess I look like I should be working construction or selling drugs haha
