I'd work on both, as they're both useful. Learn jQuery after JS; vanilla JS is trash in comparison. Learn SQL if you haven't, and maybe something like NodeJS also.

umm, vanilla js can do what jquery can do, so calling it trash makes no sense.

@Joshua Since abstract thinking isn't in your basket, I'll break it down for you. jQuery simplifies vanilla JavaScript into a form that is more intuitive and easier to deal with overall because it doesn't use trash syntax; as well, it adds features that make it more useful. It is a framework of JavaScript. In COMPARISON (it's when you isolate things and compare them to each other), JavaScript is trash, but that isn't to say it's incapable in vanilla form. Python syntax is absolute trash, but that isn't to say it isn't a capable language, because it is.
