since you asked editor and not IDE, I ll suggest atom editior truly a 21st century editor , open source, platform independent i.e. apple, Microsoft, Linux no probs, hackable to the core, and you know what it's made using node.js and cofeescript by github team recently started using it, felt so regret for not getting it before, so powerful and handy, and so many cool features, my fav is multiple cursor writing

Android studio for Android development. intelliJ for other java stuff. VScode for html/css/JavaScript/dart. Notepad++ for random stuff or if I don't want all the help IDE try to provide.

I suggest you should try out i<code>go editor. It is available on play store. Give feedback if it the best. elif:yell out.

VS Code and Sublime Text, are better than other codes editor. But I think that depend which one do you want to use.

I prefer VS for C, C++, C# and for big Python projects, but I use IDLE for simple Python programs. For Java I use Eclipse.
