What should I do if stuck in coding?

(1) Turn away from your keyboard and monitor and try to map out the problem with pencil and paper;

(2) Or take break away from your computer and try to explain the problem and where you are stuck to someone else. If there is no one who will listen, talk to a rubber plant or a shoe with eyes drawn it. (Really!)

Both (1) and (2) will marshal different parts of your brain to help solve the problem.
