I just took a job offer on working on a wordpress website but im feeling so incompitent r.n help!Advise!Motivation! First job

Question

my neighbour happens to be a scientist at a waste recycling plant and they needed help with their website.. im an intermediate front end developer and very basic in the backend excluding php which im also intermediate learning laravel a.t.m
please feel me in on everything I need to know.
I am also at liberty to form a team.i was thinking if possible ill level up my php n ill b gud.?

well wordpress is purely for php developer.. u r using laravel php framework without enough knowledge of php.. that's actually not good.. since wordpress backend codes are PHP based so u need to focus more on php..
and one thing, before moving to the frameworks or library learn the language basics first..

thank you.. I just saw an opportunity to extend my knowledge on php and I took it. As a developer ive realized that im always gaining lill bits of information about alot of tools which is overwhelming! , then combining them to build a system.so I have developed a habit of running b4 crawling. I also found it easier to learn jquery faster than javascript

@Sami khan do you think its possible for an intermediate developer on php to take responsibility of maintain the site ? (I know im at liberty to make a team to help) and considering alot of the changes they need are html/css/js ..but I would like to boost my confidence b4 I take on the task.which should not stop you from criticising

I just learnt about how to edit wordpress sites locally which was one of my worries thats ruled out...
next is a refresher course on PHP :D
