What are the prospects in learning HASKELL?

Is there any need for functional programming like Haskell?

Up and coming. Most major languages pick up functional patterns nowadays. Java, C++, C#, python... To varying degrees.

If you are familiar with Java, you can also try Scala for a more functional language. Has most of the stuff Haskell has.
