@Martin Taylor, I agree with you that Python is a target for the less experienced programmers, and even wannabes; but everyone starts from somewhere. 👍

Yes, there are multiple ways to create shell scripts, but in the end it all comes down to programmer's preference. You see Ruby scripts, Python scripts, Bash scripts, and all the like, but it is all preference.

I honestly feel like the people who glorify Python as a language specifically made for "hacking" are the ones fueling its downfall. Yes, it has uses that hinder to it more than other languages, but it can only take so much.

Most people use Python as a starting point to familiarize themselves with the concepts of programming, but then there are the ones who stick with it and worship it and hate on the other languages, and that is just annoying! I can understand that not wanting to switch to a totally different language, such as C++ from a syntactically simplistic language like Python can be intimidating, but it is a great thing to change! One language should not be worshipped, but all should be considered in areas.

You have no idea just how many script kiddies I run into on a daily basis, and believe me; the only words I hear coming from their mouth is: "DDoS this", "DDoS that." Honestly, it's boring. Script kiddies are simply annoying in the end, and it's hilarious knowing that the large majority of malicious script kiddies don't get anywhere when it comes to CS. 😂

@Martin Taylor, do keep in mind that Python is a very VERY strong language for Linux and its shell scripts, and that is where most "non-script kiddies" go to get the work done.

Python is criticized too heavily in my opinion.
