It's a programming language. If you don't understand that then think of it as a tool to communicate with computer. Think of computer as a powerful but dumb child. It requires to be told exactly what to do. For eg. You can't say it to speak ABC ; you need to tell open your mouth, let wind out of mouth in a following pattern to say ABC.

it's a powerfull language you can code everything you want but when you learn it completly, now by existing java as an oop language the best reason to learn c++ is real-time system programing . since except assembly, c++ is the fastest programing language by now.
