It will be an advantage, yeah. But it is not exactly required.

You will learn a lot of math without even knowing it whilst learning to program. I've learned a lot more whilst developing my own applications and such than I ever did with the awful education system.

Don't let it get you down if you're not great at math, you will learn more as you continue to learn programming.

a lot of programming is math inspired and the "way of thinking" is quite similar but you dont need to be a math graduate or engineer to be a good programmer
