What are the differences and similarities between Java Swing and JavaFX?

Swing is a little outdated, so JavaFX is likely the better option. Other than that, I don’t know much about either of them.

@Jacob Pembleton, I am actually thinking if I should learn Java Swing first before FX. But I guess, since Swing is a bit outdated as you've said, I'm gonna continue FX then. I already started looking at some tutorials of FX anyway. Thanks for your answer. Hoping for some other answers too though.
