Playing Minecraft could be helpful for coding.

Question

I've noticed similarities between building Redstone creations and creating a computer program. I will share my thoughts in the comments. Let me know what you think! MINECRAFT PLAYERS FOR THE WIN! 👍

if you want to make a room in Minecraft in which in entering, a wall opens and reveals a hidden passageway, it is quite similar to if you want to create a computer program to do something cool. First, there is not just one way to do it, but there usually is one way that is most efficient. Second, you have different tools and you need to know how to best use them to get the best results. Third, a lot of times you get stuck and have to see what you did wrong, or look up some YouTube vids about it. I get a similar feeling when I'm figuring out Redstone as when I'm compiling a coding challenge!!!😎

Well redstone mimics computer logic at a very low level. so yes, it's kinda a language. However I would say it only works as a minor introduction to coding.

command blocks however, could? I have not played since it was added, so I don't know. assuming command blocks can have if statements and not function calls only, then I could consider that a language as a introduction too.

overall, I'd recommend learning python or scratch if really looking to learn, however I'm sure redstone has gotten some into programming as a topic.

I used to play Minecraft and red stone was my favorite part so I can relate. I actually modded Minecraft for a while but quit for lack of ideas.

I have the Kano computer kit and u can actually CODE/HACK MINECRAFT. ITS COOL, U PUT HOW MANY IF WHAT TYPE OF BRICK IN WHAT SHAPE AND IT DOES IT!!!!
