What does a successful framework/library need?

I'm trying to have my own with my poor knowledge... But I wonder if my code is only helpful for me and only used by myself. Please!

A successful framework needs to have wide adoption and agreed standards. The good news is that with the rise of web components there will be less need for frameworks
