Its all about changing memory. Scanning pointers.
Trying to find base address pointers is pain in the ass.

you can hack only the copy of an online game in your pc. other copy is hosted on the game's server. that copy you can't hack. those two copies are comunicating with each other all the time during the playing. trouble starts when server finds any differences beetwen two copies, and long story short, you get banned.
