Can php help us get our first client on freelance ?

I have read somewhere about php that
It is most recommended language to start on freelancing.

And so could every other language be recommended.. depends on the region you live + the interests of the clients/people you meet :)

If you want to freelance in Java, why can't that be an option? In fact, Java is/was the language with the most job offers.
