Do you think that teaching Pascal in Computer Lessons is bad?

The syntax of pascal is too complicated compare to most programming language. Also, I cannot understand why it takes 15 lessons to teach from basic to only loops! Even thou OOP, array, functions are not taught!
The worse thing is that my classmates cannot understand even with a slow teaching pace.
The problem is that I learn programming very fast or my classmates learn very slow?

Studying something depends on person. Somebody needs one hour to understand one topic, but another person must spend much longer time to understand it.
And, btw, there are no OOP in Pascal.

Tip: help out your classmates. Team work and helping others, is a huge part of professional programming.

I think people are better off learning Java as it's strongly typed, and commonly used.
