I think this is caused by the curser position. If you hovered over the fist element, the lower ones will be moved down. But if you now hover over the second element, the content of the fist one disappears, so the lower elements move up to their original place and the third element is where you actually hovered over the second one. Because your curser position hasn't moved yet, you're now hovering over the third element "accidentally"
