Apart from gathering friends at Sololearn, you might try a MOOC (Massive Online Open Course) on one of the most renown platforms, like coursera, edx or udacity.
They often come with forums which you can attend to meet the people who are doing the same course and might have similar problems and similar answers to those problems.
