header tag is used inside the body tag, and it consists of mainly heading for the webpage.

<head> : You don't see on your website the informations whose are in the <head> these informations are here for the proper functioning of your website <header> : Is like a <div> but more explicit for the robots, this tag is often use for the main navigation because the main navigation is in the top(the header) of your website
