Shall we focus on gaining writing skills in multiple languages? Or stick up to one and develop our algorithmic skills?

Well, if you are not experienced in programming stick to one and master it. Doing this will give you a good start on a few others so when you eventually move to them there won't be too much confusion. The thing I see many people doing is starting off learning 2-3 languages until they get frustrated and eventually quit altogether. You wouldn't start running by running a marathon, would you? So start off slowly and don't rush things. You'll be happy you did in the future.

Workout, workout and workout( Write as much code you can). My advice is to create projects after you learn one. This way you can demonstrate your skills and learn more.
