Which one is best server side technology?

NodeJS is the better of the options listed, in my opinion. PHP is on the decline for awhile now, and NodeJS has been on the rise. It utilizes Javascript, so learning NodeJS is easier on a lot of people already familiar with JS, and allows you to have a similar approach on the front/back end. NodeJS performs much better and scales a lot better than PHP does and ever will.

Overall, go with whatever option is best for your task at hand. If you're going to be working on a PHP project somewhere, then knowing PHP is necessary; see what I mean? Knowing multiple things never hurt anyone.

I will go with others, Most of the world's leading websites are reliable on php. You should try this. Python and ruby are the newbies in this area. Node.js is highly popular in today's world, but most of the programmers work on php mostly. Choose the language you write to write on.

While that's certainly true, it does allow clustering, which would be sufficient for most of the things you'd require of multithreading.

I disagree with Paul. There is no "best one" since that is completly subjective. Just choose the one you prefer or like the most. Question is: why did you list scripting languages only?

Fata1 Err0r Disadvantage of nodejs can be that it is asynchronous single threaded. Don't know if the other languages are single or multi threaded tho
