In Python, an exponentiation is done by writing:
x**n

An exponentiation is a multiplication, where all factors have the exact same value. n describes how often you use x as this factor in the multiplication.

For example, if you write:
2**4
it's the same as
2*2*2*2
so the result will be 16.
