do all programming languages have more or less the same functions or are they all completely different?

All coding languages have the same basic principles, but they specialize in certain areas. C#, for example, is an object-oriented language, and is best used for making applications. Java, CSS, and HTML are best used for making websites. C++ and Python are general-purpose, and can do a little bit of everything. Before you start programming, look around and see what you're interested in!
