SQL or Oracle. Which one is better in terms of job availability ... Generally, in the market, Oracle pays a little better for DBAs than either of the other two. SQL Server probably pays better than MySQL. In terms of learning the basics, they really are all about the same. Oracle has more knobs to tweak (and learn), but it has a weaker community of support.

I prefer SQL Server mainly because of SQL Server Management Studio, which is a great tool. The syntax overall is nice to work with though I do miss Oracle's to_date function occasionally.

Some of these answers are incorrect. I hate seeing people say something is better than something else just because it's their personal preference. Get over yourselves.

Who says answering questions is bothering me? It's that this is a community for those learning the ropes... providing inaccurate or incorrect information based on personal bias isn't going to help anyone.

Michael then the last option for you is report to sololearn

If you say better, it depends in what sense. Since this two servers are better than one another to difference users depending on the user's needs. Most enterprise owners prefers Oracle to keep large databases and individuals prefer MySQL to work on their projects since it is free.

I will go towards Oracle when it's computer becomes necessarily and sometimes I go for sololearn SQL bcoz it will be easier for coder to check side by side

I've worked with and like them both. I do not see any reason to prefer one over the other. It really comes down to what project you are working on and what resources are available to you. MS SQL syntax and MySQL syntax are very similar with minor differences. They both have equivalent definitions for everything from data types to any queries you write.

Since you’re comparing with SQL server, I take it that you mean Oracle database when you say Oracle . So... Hands down its Oracle.
Its versatile can run virtually on any platform, can very efficiently handle huge amounts of data.. and best of all..mutli-versioning and Read consistency in an environment with mixed workloads with incredibly high concurrency.
