Has anyone used a website called "upwork"?
I would like some advice on getting freelance jobs on the website called upwork. I'm having a hard time landing my first job. I'm trying to find the jobs that are website development just to get started, mainly front end stuff then building up as I progress hopefully. any advice would be appreciated, thank you.

The first step would be to identify your skills and decide what you want to focus your freelancing profile on.
Do your competitive research to see how other freelancers are presenting themselves in the same field as you and create your profile.
When you apply to a job, be sure to draw your client’s attention to your experience. So, if you are able to prove you have the relevant experience, your lack of Upwork experience won’t matter.
Take a few small jobs to start building up feedback on your profile. This will help you get noticed more.

I'm no longer active in Upwork, but when I first started, I was just like you :) I've started experimenting with profile info, proposal style, etc. After first project is successfully done, I received another and so on :)

//Lana Wilson thanks Lana :) I really appreciate it. I've already done all that with no luck, even after 25 proposals, so I've started building up my portfolio even more and modifying current projects to make them even better yet. I just gotta keep trying I think lol. I'm a broke college kid just trying to make it out here. I really appreciate the advice, thanks again!
