I keep thinking about a lovely program, coding it, but when I reach half way, I lose motivation.

I have always wanted to program some projects. But the problem is recursive. Whenever I am in the middle (or 75% complete) of a project, I lose motivation and delete it :'( Does anybody know of a way I can get rid of the problem?

Do not delete it 😋 Show your project to your friends or family members or here on SoloLearn, they will like it and may will be asking you when you want to finish it. That works for me.

Thanks Matúš Semančík. I think that I get so exited about the project that I try to do many things at once 😅.

Same for me dude. You should make a tasklist and step by step make all tasks and focus at only one task.

Based on a few articles and feedback that I have gotten from more experienced people here on SoloLearn, it is part of the process. I started late and always feel that I cannot cope but I am learning as much as I can. You have to continue to work on that project. Share it with others here so that they can have a look at it and help out.

Next time you feel like deleting it, stop yourself and think about how you feel, what are you thinking about. Ask yourself: what is my relationship to this project? Am I frustrated, bored, or simply ready to move onto something new? Why do I feel like deleting it? Am I dissatisfied right now and acting out of impulse? Do I just need a break? Pause and take a walk, sleep on it, or talk to friends and family. Give it space and use it as an opportunity to introspect and come to a better understanding of yourself as a programmer and a human being.
