"You really need to be good at math!" NOT TRUE

People saying that, is one of my biggest pet peeves. It's complete bullsh*t. There are so many niches and jobs in web design, web development, and yes, server-side programming, that there is something for everyone. In fact the vast majority of web design jobs don't even use basic algebra. Now yes, if you can do advanced math, more doors will be open to you. But you need one job, not hundreds. And most math experts aren't going to work in web design anyway. If you can learn the skill, you can get a job.

Most of my work has required basic math: +/-*. Websites aren't complicated beasts. Certainly, there are coding jobs out there that may require calculus or algebra, website work is not one of them. But, it's also why it's one of the lower paying software jobs to take.
