Well such a javascript library is nice and especially if you have never programmed before is nice because the learning curve is a lot lower.
That being said I suppose for professional purpose robotics I believe they still you C.
I could be wrong about that, but in any case using a Node.JS library with javascript is a good place to start nonetheless

There's a nice library in Javascript that I found a couple of months ago called Johnny Five (see johnny-five.io for details). It runs with NodeJs and can do pretty interesting stuff. A good option to begin with robotics even more if you already know some Javascript.
