How to read/understand codes written by other people?

What advice can you give for beginners like me?

In the beginning you should familiarize yourself with the syntax of the language you are learning. Then try to code a lot so that you can practice how to solve problems using programming logic.

Once you have done this, you can try reading other people's code. If you encounter an unfamiliar built-in function/method of the programming language you are reading, then google it.
