Lol, "no. Rpi uses linux". What makes you think JS doesn't work in Linux? So, if you're using a Linux OS and want to surf the web, half of the websites, or most of them, wont work for you because JS will be disabled.. not supported?! Did you know that most web servers are running some Linux variant? And that Linux is the mother of all nerds and programmers - before the trends switched towards Macs? Probably the guy who created JS was using Linux.
And JavaScript is running on more than web browsers nowadays. There's even a guy who developed a JS engine which lets you run Linux it self in a browser!

You should not make assumptions; it leads to suffering. Obviously all websites use HTML, CSS, & JS, but that is not what was asked. Rpi is programmed via Linux, at least it's the default using NOOBS(New Out Of Box Software); my 2 Rpi's use Raspbian & Openelec . Can you develop Web pages via Rpi & JS; yes. Can you develop programs for Rpi using JS? No. So exactly what was your point?

"Can you develop programs for Rpi using JS?"
That was not the asked question either. He was asking what a lot of people who think JS is a weak scripting language only used for webpages have asked. They wonder: what else can you do with JS?
Now I don't know if you can use it in Rpi, but my reaction was against the argument that "no, Rpi uses Linux".

lol, when did I state their question? I didn't, so where you quote something I did not state I find it very surprising. This terrific banter will not help with the original question, though it could be entertaining to some. There is a lesson here; if you don't know the answer to the question then don't answer. Although I'm newer to Linux, I can still do basic programming and have Rpi's so there's that.

I hate flamewars and basically you're telling me to shut up (I don't own a Rpi and I don't use Linux) so points to you be happy ☺
Btw, you can run Node.js on Rpi. (this is for the person who asked)

I wasn't telling you to shut up. Sorry if u feel that way. Though I did say if you don't know the answer then no reply needed; I can see where you can infer that. You gave some good info that some might find useful. Peace.
