Curiosity question: What software do people use for coding and why?

Question

At the moment I am using ACC Dreamweaver because I like that you can have everything up on the screen you need, along with a live split view. Its easy to test different screen sizes and browsers, and has a really useful auto code fill for common tags etc. But it would be really useful to hear what others are using and why.

Also interested to hear about other coding language software, not just web based stuff, things like Unity etc.
