When will HTML 5 completely take over the web?

As a student studying in new media communication, I am curious when HTML 5 will be the only code on the web? If someone could enlighten me :)

This could be a long time as browser developers need to conform to its standards, and not only that they still keep adding new bits to it - tweaks for improvement.
