That sounds like a lot of fun, 'Why So Serious?" In my college, we have something similar to that for game development and you have a set amount of time to create a game based on whatever the rules are for that particular competition. As you said, get to meet a lot of cool people and gain a lot of experience while doing it.

The best experience I ever had is when I get the second rank in a hackaton competition ,that I spent 24 hours in front the computer without sleep So I advice you to participate in any competitions or seminars because there where you can gain experience and new friends

Experience? Hmm, about 7 years ago my girlfriend installed a keylogger on my computer because she thought I was cheating or something (I wasn't). However, I take pride in my computer knowledge and even more pride in my personal computers, so I immediately knew she did that. After removing the keylogger I used C++ to recreate it and set it up exactly how she had it, so when she went to the prompt to open the keylogger to check the screenshots/etc.., I had it pop up with a console window that I created and I basically mocked/laughed at her via code and told her to stay off my computer. I went to to gas station because I knew she would take that opportunity to check it, and then got home with my camera so that I could record the look on her face. Was by far my fav programming experience and situation ever. lol :D
