That's news to me. I highly doubt Java was "replaced" by Kotlin, but correct me with proper sources if that's true.

It's not. Java is still more popular than Kotlin - actually, Kotlin dropped in popularity last month (according to various interviews with devs, stack overflow stats etc). I don't think Kotlin will "replace" java anytime soon.

Kotlin doesn't replace Java. That's Just a language used to simplify the sintax of Android development, but Kotlin runs on JVM too.

kotlin compiles to java VM and for Javascript too, and it try be simpler and more useful than java, google supports it, but popularity is not so comparable with java still
