The parametric equations of a curve are x = 1 +tan θ , y=sec θ , for -1/2pi < θ < 1/2 pi Show that dy/dx = sin θ Find the coordinates of the point on the curve ar which the gradient of the curve is 1/2

dy/dx=(dy/dθ)/(dx/dθ) =sec^2(θ)/(sec(θ)tan(θ)) =secθ/tanθ =sinθ
