If you really want to learn hacking I would suggest dont buy book or make notes , do one thing just start doing things on your system .If you need guidance or knowledge just follow articles, Cybrary, Wikipedia, YouTube tutorials, courses .
But type commands and do code on system it will help more.

Internet I think that is more than enough to learn hacking or moresoever almost everything, at least I have learned from Internet ,whatever i did.
