What is the initial code language(s) for coding video games

Question

I know I’m a long way from coding a game but I’ve recently been interested in learning how to code a video game and I believe the initial language is Java or JavaScript but I just wanted to make sure from people that are way more experienced than me.

Update: now that I think about it I think that it takes more than 1 coding language and I just realized how stupid I sounded but can someone still please tell me the initial languages.

By initial, do you mean oldest? I think some of the oldest ones were written in Assembly language.
