Good question Bəiñg_Jay. Sololearn is a beginner friendly platform. It only teaches the basics and fundamentals of coding. Sololearn tries to keep it simple for kids and noobs. Besides, they focus on the main purpose of languages, not all the possible applications. Beginners need simplicity, because they have to make a choice. Making choices is hard you know. Hence precise classification is not beneficial in this case. Python is a very versatile programming language. It can be used for so many purposes and back end is only one of them. Besides, there are other programming languages that can be used for back end, but nobody calls them back end languages. Classification doesn't really matter. What really matters, is that nowadays you don't have to learn a new language every time you want to complete a new task. There is a lot of libraries and frameworks to help you do anything you want. You can do scripting, OOP or gaming. Heck you can do full stack if you want to.

Because Python is only taught as a programming language here, there is no course (yet?) on Python for backend.
